Promoting the partnership of law enforcement and citizens in support of a safe community.

Take Action

There a number of different ways you can take action to prevent crime in Cottage Grove.  Whether you choose to become a McGruff House, start or join a Neigborhood Watch, or participate in a Cottage Grove Crime Prevention event, you will be working to make a positive difference in our community.

Become a McGruff House

By becoming a McGruff house, you can provide a safe place for children who find themselves in frigtening or dangerous situations and need help.  For more information about the McGruff House program, and how to become a McGruff House, please click here or call Diane McCabe at (651) 458-6053.

Start or Join A Neighborhood Crime Watch

Joining a neighborhood watch, or starting one if your neighborhood does not already have one is an excellent way to prevent crime and improve the safety of your neighborhood.  It is also a good way to meet your neighbors and work together towards a common goal that benefits all.  For more information about the Neighborhood Crime Watch program, please click here or call Diane McCabe at (651) 458-6053.

Attend Cottage Grove Crime Prevention Board Events

An easy and often fun way to learn about crime prevention and help support your Cottage Grove Police Department is to attend Cottage Grove Crime Prevention Board events.  Throughout the year we host, sponsor, and participate in a number of events such as National Night Out, pancake breakfasts, parades, and workshops on current topics such as identity theft.  Please see our News and Events page for upcoming events.
